Job Description
CERA Solutions is seeking an Engineer II – Civil to perform various tasks associated with the Design and Construction of infrastructure projects. These projects vary in nature and range from highway reconstruction to civil site work. The Engineer II – Civil will perform these tasks under the supervision of CERA Solutions staff or a client of CERA Solutions. You will work in a fast-growing dynamic industry, contribute towards healthy economies, and make a lasting positive impact on society.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations;
- Perform on-site investigations;
- Utilize various CAD and engineering programs such as MicroStation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, Office365, etc.;
- Analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other);
- Conduct technical and feasibility studies;
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required;
- Exercise professional judgment when investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide
- variety of engineering related issues;
- Prepare engineering inspection, feasibility, and design reports;
- Provide guidance and mentoring of junior staff;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Four (4) year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution;
- Four (4) to ten (10) years of progressive design experience;
- E.I.T./FE certification, P.E. preferred but not required;
- Experience in transportation related and/or construction management;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise letters, memoranda, proposals and technical reports;
- Strong project management and supervision skills;
- Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation or similar and MS Office.
- Ability to commute/relocate to Chicago, IL is required.
