Job Description
CERA Solutions is seeking a Construction Engineer/Inspector to perform various tasks associated with the construction of infrastructure projects. These projects vary in nature and range from highway reconstruction to civil site work. The Construction Engineer will perform these tasks under the direction and/or supervision of the Resident Engineer.
We expect you to be highly responsible and passionate about your job. You should also be a good problem solver with a creative approach to your tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Resident Engineer and/or Inspectors with various project tasks;
- Document quantities and materials for project reports;
- Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities;
- Exercise professional judgment when investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering-related issues;
- Ensure contractors’ work is compliant with contract documents;
- Assist in the preparation of engineering inspection, feasibility, and design reports; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Four (4) year technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution;
- EIT/FE/PE certification is preferred but not required;
- 1 to 2 years of Construction experience is preferred;
- Previous experience with TxDOT, City of Austin, City of San Antonio, SAWS projects or other municipal public works projects is preferred;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise letters, memoranda, proposals, and technical reports;
- Experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar and MS Office is beneficial; and
- Must be willing to work nights and/or weekends.
